Assertion 2.10: The erosion rate of Niagara Falls places an upper limit of 5,000 years on its age.
Analysis:
I do not know whether the erosion rate of Niagara Falls actually sets an upper bound of 5,000 years on its age. However, assuming it does, it is difficult to see what is supposed to follow that is of help to creationism. The age of Niagara Falls, of course, sets a lower bound on the age of the Earth, not an upper bound. To try to deduce a young Earth from the maximum age of Niagara Falls would be like my arguing that the Earth must be no more than 30 years old since I was born in 1974.
